Tanana Lakes Ice Fishing Day
Tanana Lakes Ice Fishing Day
December 7, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Come try ice fishing at Tanana Lakes Recreation Area (Cushman Lake) this Saturday, December 7th, from 10am to 1pm!
Staff members from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Division of Sport Fish, will be at the lake with loaner ice fishing rods. We’ll drill holes in the ice for you, set you up with the gear, and give you a quick ice fishing lesson if you’d like.
The lake has been stocked with rainbow trout and Chinook (king) salmon. There’s also a resident population of northern pike that are native to the lake and are a blast to catch!
It should be fun for the whole family! And it’s free!
Alaska residents 18 years and older will need a sport fishing license. Nonresidents 16 years old and older will need a sport fishing license to fish.
You can buy your State of Alaska sport fishing license here > https://store.adfg.alaska.gov/
Or you can purchase your license through the ADF&G mobile app> https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=home.mobile_app
Kids won’t need a sport fishing license.
Park at the boat launch, and you’ll see us out on the lake.
Please contact Andy Gryska at 907-459-7339 (andrew.gryska@alaska.gov) with any questions.
