Our winner for the 2022 Midnight Sun Festival Tee Shirt Contest sponsored by FairbanksAlaska.com is Arisa Sasaki (@arisalaskart)! Check out her statement on her design below:

“After a long, cold winter, the logo represents the sunny feelings of people enjoying the beautiful weather the sun provides for the coming summer with friends and family. The bright blue in particular represents the refreshing Alaskan summer sky, while the yellow represents the midnight sun itself and the vibrancy of the people.

As many people encountered moose in downtown, the winter of 2022 was a tough season for moose due to heavy snowfall. I placed the moose in the center of the logo with the hope that they will continue to live strongly as the season of the midnight sun approaches.

Other than moose, I put an iconic ‘Unknown First Family’ monument by Malcolm Alexander and The William Ransom Wood Centennial Bridge across the Chena River because I wanted everyone living in Fairbanks to recognize this design as downtown Fairbanks and feel connected.”
